NHRC BOARD MINUTES
November 15th, 2011

Present were:

Doug Emerson, N6NFF, President

President Doug, N6NFF, convened the meeting at 6:33 PM.

Vice President Kim, KE6RKX, pointed out that he needs Christmas
dinner reservations no later than during tonight's membership
meeting.

Doug asked the Nominating Committee for a report.  The Committee
reported the following nominations:

  President: Doug Emerson, N6NFF
  Vice President: Vacant
  Secretary-Treasurer: Maynard Wright, W6PAP
  Director: Bob Wortmon, WB6VYH

Maynard, W6PAP, agreed to conduct the election during the 
membership meeting.

Subsequent to the report by the Nominating Committee, Ryan, 
W6RNL, agreed to run for Vice President.

Doug reported receiving a $100 check from Gary, WA6TQJ, in 
appreciation for the use of the K6IS repeater system during the
Princess Promenade bicycle event.

Ryan, W6RNL, informed the Board that the IRLP internet link is 
down and that work is being done to restore it.  Ryan said that
the next project will be to open ports in the computer at the
repeater site so that remote reset will be possible.

Kim stated that he would like to start work on the 2012 Hamfest
right away.  We will need flyers and an insurance assignment form.

Bob, WB6VYH, asked whether NHRC has an RFI/TVI committee.  The 
consensus was that there is no such committee.  Maynard agreed to
remove reference to such a committee from the NHRC pages at the
ARRL website.

Renewal of our domain name was discussed.  A consensus was achieved
to keep the current domain name but to switch from Network Solutions
to Go Daddy as our domain name registry.

The next Board meeting was scheduled for January 17th.

Doug adjourned the meeting at 6:55 PM.

NHRC MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
November 15, 2011

President Doug, N6NFF, convened the meeting at 7:32 PM and called
for a round of introductions.

Vice President Kim, KE6RKX, announced that the Christmas dinner 
will be held on December 13th at 7:00 PM at the Black Bear Diner 
near the junction of I-80 and West El Camino Avenue.  Kim circulated
a choice of menu items from which a mini-menu will be prepared.  The 
cost will be $19 per person and Kim will need to collect the money no
later than the end of this meeting.

Doug announced that our domain name registry will be changed from
Network Solutions to Go Daddy.

Doug also asked for volunteers to provide refreshments for meetings
in 2012.

Webmaster Les, W6TEE, stated that, if there is interest in putting
together a K6IS Field Day operation, he would be willing to chair it.

Repeater Committee Member Ryan, W6RNL, reported that the K6IS IRLP 
link is down.

Under new business, Mark, KF6IDO, announced that VE tests will be 
held at the Carmichael Elks Lodge on Saturday, November 19th.

The Board brought the following nominations for office for 2012 to
the attention of the membership and asked for nominations from the 
floor.  As there were no nominations forthcoming, the following
officers were declared to be elected by acclamation with no 
objections registered:

  President: Doug Emerson, N6NFF
  Vice President: Ryan Larkin, W6RNL
  Secretary-Treasurer: Maynard Wright, W6PAP
  Director: Bob Wortmon, WB6VYH

Following a refreshment break, Omer Whipple, KI6JNY, made an
interesting and informative presentation titled "What can APRS do
for you?"

President Doug adjourned the meeting at 9:00 PM.
